Big beach bag Workshop 10+ years
Make your own roomy beach bag! This is a big beach bag that holds at least two towels with room for many more things! This class is suitable for students who have attended a Sew with Jo class previously or are currently attending Sew with Jo classes.
Students will learn the following skills in this workshop:
– Threading the sewing machine, winding a bobbin, inserting a bobbin
– How to stitch a seam and fasten off (use of reverse lever)
– How to read a basic pattern
– How to turn create depth in a bag
- How to line a bag
– Basic pressing
- How to attach handles
-How to use stablizer
The fabric for this class will be precut beforehand so students need to supply the following fabric and thread to the Sew with Jo studio by 22nd March, 2021
– 1.2 metres of cotton woven fabric or outside of bag
-1.2 metres of cotton woven fabric for the lining of the bag
-matching thread (Gutermann or Mettler brand – 100m polyester reel)
Sew with Jo will provide the pellon (stabilizer), pattern and cotton tape for handles (choose from light pink, black, cream, white or grey).
Class sizes are limited to 6 so students benefit from personalised tuition.
Please bring your own morning tea, lunch and drink bottle.
Classes are held at Sew with Jo studio – Wellington Point.
