
Make your own clutch style manicure pouch! This class is for students who are currently attending Sew with Jo classes or who have previously attended a Sew with Jo class and are 10+years.
We will be using a terrific pattern designed by Noodlehead.
Students will learn the following skills in this workshop:
- Threading the sewing machine, winding a bobbin, inserting a bobbin
- Straight stitching
- How to read a basic pattern
- How to pin on a pattern and cut out fabric
- Inserting a zipper
- How to turn out corners
- Pressing
- Adding elastic
- Making pockets
- Using stabiliser
- And many more skills!
Please bring the following materials to the class:
- .4 metre (40cm) of cotton fabric for the outside of the pouch (see leopard fabric in picture above)
- .3 metre (30cm)of cotton fabric for the lining and the centre strip inside the pouch (see black fabric in picture above)
- .2 metre (20cm) of another coordinating cotton fabric for the zipper section and the elastic pocket section (see spot fabric on picture above)
- 30cm matching zipper
- Matching Gutterman or Mettler Polyester thread 100m reel.
Sew with Jo will supply the stabiliser, elastic and the snaps to secure the pouch.
Class sizes are limited to 6 so students benefit from personalised tuition.
Classes are held at Sew with Jo studio – Wellington Point.
Please bring your own afternoon tea and water bottle. Please do not bring foods containing nuts.
